Foster Family Week

Foster Family Week is celebrate every third week in October.

Canadian foster families provide a special contribution to society and more importantly, to vulnerable children and youth.  There are approximately 35,000 foster families throughout Canada who perform the important task of nurturing children.  There is a tremendous diversity of foster families.  They come in all shapes and sizes, and from different racial, ethnic and religious backgrouds.  They share the common motivation of making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable children and youth.

The recruitment and retention of foster families is an on-going challenge.  FACS is committed to recruiting and supporting foster families by raising awareness about this essential service.
